Tripura-made Sylheti short film ‘Iter Tukra’, created by Saroj Deb and Subhasish Das, has been released on ZEE5 after entering the Top 100 of the 2026 Zee Short Film Contest, highlighting Tripura’s regional language, culture and local storytelling.
A Tripura-made Sylheti language short film “Iter Tukra” has been released on the popular OTT platform ZEE5. This release – of a film made by a Tripura youth -is a significant achievement in bringing regional language and local cultural stories to a wider audience.
Initially the film was selected among the top 100 short films in Zee short film contest, 2026 and received a nomination in the Best Other Language category.
The short film has been crafted by anchoring its narrative in local realities and everyday human lives.
The story, screenplay, and direction of the film have been handled by Saroj Deb and Subhasish Das. The film was produced under the banner of Pathik Drama Society.
By showcasing Tripura’s regional language and culture through cinema, the arrival of “Iter Tukra” on an OTT platform like ZEE5 has generated renewed enthusiasm among local filmmakers.
