Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday reviewed the ongoing works of the upcoming 14+G building -tallest building in the state- that would house all the government departments with every facility available. The building is being constructed at Gorkhabasti area on about one acre land with an estimated cost of Rs 133 crore.

While talking to the reporters the Chief Minister said, the building is being built with latest technology taken from California (USA). There are some similiar buildings with similar technology in the country, the Chief Minister said.

Keeping in mind that the state is located in earthquake prone Zone-5 all required earthquake resistance systems are also incorporated in the building which can easily withstand 9.9 intensity of earthquake tremor.

“There will be all encompassing security arrangements in the building which will house the government offices and other required facilities including meeting chambers etc”.

“One of the important features of the facility will be recycling of waste-water that would be used in the garden and other places. Apart from conventional power the building will also include solar power systems”, said the Chief Minister.

He hoped that the construction of the tallest building will be completed in time.
