Chennai/IBNS: Indias bowling unit spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja took the home team to a commanding position in the first Test against Bangladesh at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday.

At stumps on day 2, India scored 81/3 taking a lead of 308 runs over Bangladesh, which suffered a batting collapse.

Apart from Bumrah who scalped four wickets for 50 runs, Ravindra Jadeja, Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj shared two wickets each.

In the morning, India were bowled out for 376 in the first innings.

Ravindra Jadeja missed his century as he was dismissed for 86 from 124 balls. Ravichandran Ashwin was the top scorer for India with 113 from 133 balls.

Hasan Mahmud picked five wickets conceding 83 runs for Bangladesh.
