Bollywood icons Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan Khan, and Salman Khan visited veteran actor Dharmendra at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai after reports of his health complications. The 89-year-old legend, currently under observation, continues to receive prayers from fans and colleagues.
Bollywood witnessed a rare show of solidarity on Monday as megastar Shah Rukh Khan, accompanied by his son Aryan Khan, paid a heartfelt visit to veteran actor Dharmendra at Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai. The 89-year-old actor, one of Hindi cinema’s most enduring stars, was reportedly admitted after experiencing breathing difficulties and was put on ventilator support.
Shah Rukh Khan, known for his close ties with several industry stalwarts, arrived in his Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge, drawing significant media attention. His son Aryan Khan accompanied him, both dressed in understated attire as they made their way to the hospital to check on the veteran’s condition.
Earlier, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, Dharmendra’s sons, were spotted visiting him on Saturday evening. Another wave of star power followed as Salman Khan was seen arriving at the hospital on Sunday evening, flanked by heavy security. Salman’s deep respect for Dharmendra has long been evident, having worked with him in “Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya” and sharing family ties that date back over five decades.
Dharmendra’s Condition and Family Statement
As concern mounted, Sunny Deol’s team issued an official statement on November 10 to clarify the situation.
The note read:
“Mr. Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. We request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s privacy.”
The brief statement has reassured fans, though thousands continue to flood social media with prayers, recalling the veteran actor’s timeless contribution to Indian cinema.
A Legacy Beyond Generations
Born in 1935 in Punjab, Dharmendra entered the Hindi film industry through a nationwide talent hunt organized by Filmfare and Bimal Roy Productions in the late 1950s. His win in 1958 marked the beginning of a glorious career spanning more than six decades. Known for his handsome looks, charm, and emotional depth, Dharmendra quickly rose to fame and became one of the most beloved faces in Bollywood.

His first major breakthrough came with “Phool Aur Patthar” (1966), which established him as a romantic and action hero. Films like “Sholay” (1975)—where he portrayed the witty and fearless Veeru—cemented his position as a legend. Other notable performances include “Yaadon Ki Baaraat”, “Chupke Chupke”, “Seeta Aur Geeta”, “Dharam Veer”, and “The Burning Train.”
Even in his later years, Dharmendra continued to charm audiences with his performances. His role in “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani” (2023) was widely praised for its warmth and grace. He was last seen in “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” (2024) and is set to appear in Sriram Raghavan’s upcoming film “Ikkis.”
Bollywood Unites in Support
The hospital’s entrance has become a site of emotional gatherings as celebrities and fans alike continue to show their support. Shah Rukh Khan and Aryan’s visit added to the emotional wave already stirred by Salman Khan’s earlier appearance. Salman, who has often called Dharmendra “the most lovable man in the industry,” chose not to speak to the media but looked visibly concerned as he exited the premises.
Dharmendra’s long-standing bond with the Khan family traces back to the time when Salim Khan, Salman’s father, co-wrote “Sholay”, one of Indian cinema’s greatest classics featuring Dharmendra in an iconic role.
Fans Hope for a Speedy Recovery
Across social media platforms, fans have been posting old movie clips and emotional tributes using hashtags like #GetWellSoonDharmendra and #LegendDharmendra. From veteran co-stars to young actors, the entire industry seems united in prayer for the actor’s health.
