Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday visited construction works of the International Cricket Stadium at Narsingarh. He was accompanied by Tripura Cricket Association president Dr Manik Saha, Joint secretary Kishor Das and other office bearers.
The construction company engineers briefed the Chief Minister about the progress of the construction of the much ambitious stadium which after completion is expected to host international cricket matches. It is being built at a cost of Rs 185.13 Crore in an area of 14.22 acres. Seating capacity of the stadium is 22,375 and will have state of the international standard art facilities , commentators’ box, VIP lounge and multiple arrangements. The Chief Minister asked all engaged in the construction to ensure highest quality works and global standard and make the stadium befitting for international match.
After review Deb told reporters that the works for the stadium started in 2017 but due to Covid situation works were affected and delayed.
“However, by this year end the stadium is expected to be completed”, said the Chief Minister.
The stadium is a part of state government’s endeavour for encouraging and bringing the sports talents of the state which will also help the governmet in achieving drugs free state’, said Deb.
Dr Manik Saha, president Tripura Cricket Association who accompanied Dev said the stadium is expected to be completed by October-November next.
