“We want a constitutional solution for our people and whoever is ready to give in writing, we are open to talk,” said TIPRA Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman refuting the claims of his possible alliance with Congress.
Recently, there have been speculations on the possible alliance between the TIPRA Motha and the grand old Congress party following the switch of former BJP MLA Sudip Roy Barman and Ashish Kumar Saha.
“It is a section of the media that has been speculating even though I never said anything about our ties with any political party. I was said to be in alliance with the BJP, whereas we defeated them in the ADC elections,” Deb Barman said during an exclusive interview with Rise East.
Speaking further he demanded action against those speculating misinformation against his alliance with other political parties adding, “We want constitutional settlement not money or power. Had I wanted I could have become an MP or taken back my property,” Deb Barman added.
On the development of ADC areas he said that they will sign a contract with the Apollo hospitals in Hyderabad on Wednesday as part of which they would set up infrastructure in the ADC.
“I am not interested in politics of TMC and BJP. I am working on my own way. So far not much support has been received from the state government except for the fund allocation in the health sector. Neither CPIM, Congress or BJP has supported the ADC,” TIPRA Motha chairman said.
He also said that the village council elections should be conducted at the earliest so that the council can implement the developmental work.
On the Bru displacement issue he said that the Bru people were always neglected and attacked but with support from the centre they have been finally settled in Tripura.
“I would like to thank the government of India and also request them to do the needful; so that they can vote in state assembly elections in 2023,” Deb Barman added.
