Tripura government has taken strong note to the allegations levelled by CPM leader Jitendra Choudhury that that ‘some cabinet members are involved in taking commission from suppliers and contractors’.

Information and Cultural Affairs minister Sushanta Chaudhury while briefing the media on Tuesday asked the CPI-M state secretary to prove his allegations.

Chowdhury said, if the CPM leader failed to prove his allegations legal actions would be taken against him.

“As per a report appeared in a local daily, the CPI-M state secretary raised an allegation that some members in the cabinet were taking 6 to 15 percent commission from the suppliers and contractors. This is a serious allegation and he has to prove it or else we will take legal action against him. The matter has already been discussed with the Law department,” the ICA minister told the media.

Strongly condemning the comment passed by the CPI-M state secretary, the ICA minister said, “our government is transparent and the recent TSR recruitment is the example. We maintained transparency that’s why many of the left supporters got the job.”

On behalf of the government, the ICA minister said if Chaudhury fails to prove the allegation, he has to seek unconditional apology.
