In a significant administrative overhaul within the Tripura police department, 23 police officers have been subjected to transfers and reassignments. This restructuring, which precedes the crucial 2024 Lok Sabha elections, aims to streamline law enforcement and security operations in the region.

The key highlights of this reshuffle are as follows:

New ADG (Law and Order): Anurag has been appointed as the new Additional Director General (ADG) for Law and Order following his return from a central deputation.

ADGP Law and Order: The incumbent ADGP (Law and Order), Sourabh Tripathi, has been reassigned as ADGP PHQ, taking on a new role within the department.

Change in AIGP (HQ): Sankar Debnath, the former AIGP (HQ), has been appointed as the Commanding Officer (CO) of 6th-Bn TSR.

AIGP TSR: R. Darlong, who was previously attached to PHQ, has been posted as AIGP, TSR.

Reassignment of Superintendents of Police (SPs): Several Superintendents of Police have undergone transfers and new postings:

Dr. Kulwant Singh, SP South Tripura, has been reassigned as SP for Economic Offences.
SP Security Bijoy Debbarma is now the SP for Procurement.
Prabir Majumder, former SP of Procurement, has been reassigned as SP for MTF (Mobile Task Force).
SP Serious Crimes Ratiranjan Debnath has assumed the role of SP for Anti-Narcotics.
CO of 6th-Bn TSR: Jayanta Chakraborty, the Commanding Officer of 6th-Bn TSR, has been posted as AIGP (HQ).

New In-Charge CO of 9th-Bn TSR: Alok Bhattacharjee, formerly AIGP Crime, has been designated as the in-charge CO of 9th-Bn TSR.

Leadership Change at ACRR Training Centre: Rajib Sengupta, who was in-charge AIGP (PH & C), has taken on the role of in-charge CO at the ACRR Training Centre.

Principal of KTDS Police Training Academy: SP MTF Nabadwip Jamatia has been transferred and appointed as the Principal of KTDS Police Training Academy, succeeding Ashok Kumar Sinha.

New SP for South Tripura: Ashok Kumar Sinha, the former Principal of KTDS Police Training Academy, has assumed the position of SP for South Tripura.

Transfer of In-Charge CO of 9th-Bn TSR: Rajib Nag, who was in charge of the 9th-Bn TSR, has been reassigned as in-charge AIGP (PH & C).

New In-Charge SP (Serious Crimes): H.F. Darlong, Deputy Commandant of 2nd-Bn TSR, has been appointed as the in-charge SP for Serious Crimes.

Change at 1st-Bn TSR: Sudip Kumar Paul, the in-charge CO of ACRR Training Centre, has been relocated to 1st-Bn TSR as the in-charge CO.

SP for Cyber Crimes: Mihir Lal Das, who previously served as Addl. SP for South Tripura, has been named as the in-charge SP for Cyber Crimes.

SP Narcotics Reassignment: SP Narcotics Sharmistha Chakraborty has been reassigned to the role of AIGP (Crime).

SP for Security: Kishore Debbarma, the former SP for Security, has been transferred and posted as SP for Security.

New CO for Home Guards: Sudeshna Bhattacharyya, SP for SCRB, will now oversee the Home Guards as the Commanding Officer (CO), succeeding Timir Das.

SP for SCRB: Timir Das, who previously managed Home Guards, has been transferred and appointed as SP for SCRB.

Change in CO of 3rd-Bn TSR: Narayan Roy Chowdhury, who was in-charge CO of 3rd-Bn TSR, has been reassigned as the in-charge CO of 2nd-Bn TSR.

In-Charge CO of 3rd-Bn TSR: Addl. SP, Dhalai- Binoy Kishore Debbarma, has taken over as the in-charge CO of 3rd-Bn TSR.
