Three youths from Tripura have secured Machine Operator jobs with Balmer Lawrie in Dubai after completing 480 hours of skill training under MMDUP at CIPET Agartala, earning starting salaries of around ₹65,000 per month.

Three youths from Tripura have secured overseas employment as Machine Operators with Balmer Lawrie in Dubai after completing specialised skill training under the Mukhya Mantri Dakhyata Unnayan Prakalpa (MMDUP). The achievement highlights the role of skill development programmes in connecting young people from the state with international employment opportunities.

The selected candidates, Abhoy Debnath, Sanjit Das and Ripan Das, completed their training at the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Agartala. Their selection for jobs in Dubai marks an important milestone in their professional careers and demonstrates how technical training can help young people access opportunities in the global job market.

According to information shared by the Directorate of Skill Development, the three candidates underwent 80 days of training, covering a total of 480 hours. The programme was designed to equip them with the technical knowledge and practical skills required for employment in the industrial sector.

Following their selection, the candidates are expected to receive an average starting salary of ₹65,000 per month. Their monthly earnings could increase to ₹96,000 after six months, depending on their performance.

The overseas placements reflect the potential of targeted skill development initiatives to prepare candidates for industry-specific jobs and improve their employment prospects. By providing technical training aligned with professional requirements, such programmes aim to help young people build careers beyond their home state and explore opportunities abroad.

The Mukhya Mantri Dakhyata Unnayan Prakalpa is among the initiatives through which Tripura seeks to strengthen the skills of its youth and improve access to employment. Training at institutions such as CIPET provides candidates with specialised technical exposure that can support their entry into industrial occupations.

The selection of Abhoy Debnath, Sanjit Das and Ripan Das is also expected to encourage other aspiring candidates to pursue vocational education and technical training. Their achievement highlights the importance of developing practical skills that match the requirements of employers in domestic and international markets.

For Tripura, overseas placements can provide young workers with opportunities to gain professional experience, improve their earning potential and build careers in specialised fields. Such outcomes also underline the importance of connecting skill development institutions, training programmes and employers to help candidates move from training to employment.
