Finance Minister Pranajit Singh Roy today expressed his wish to be the Ni-kshoy Mitra announcing that he would take care of five tuberculosis patients by extending them the support of nutritious food for the next six months. The Finance Minister was speaking at the Gomati District level Ceremony which was inaugurated by the President of India virtually.
Singha Roy asked the concerned authorities to identify any five TB patients to be adopted for the next six months who could be given nutrition support by him personally.
He referred to various welfare oriented steps taken the Prime Minister Narendra Modi where he had urged the ministers, bureaucrats, businessmen and citizens of the country to voluntarily support the TB patients to make India TB Free by 2025. After the minister’s announcement, the Zilla Sabadhaipati, Debal Debroy also announced to be the ‘Ni-kshoy Mitra’ by adopting one person.
Praising the Prime Minister for this ambitious initiative the Finance Minister said, ‘it is the duty of all of us to implement various initiatives and projects of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister’. He said, the commencement of the Ayushman Bhava program today by the hand of the President of the country proves the importance that government wants to go whole hog for the welfare of people. He said, many poor people are getting benefitted from the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, a landmark initiative of the Prime Minister for free treatment. “Today even poor people are also getting better treatment’, Singha Roy said and added that in future these projects would reach more people.
It may be noted that President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated the Ayushman Bhava program today. In District Level Programme, District Magistrate Govekar Mayur Ratilal said that various programs and activities under Ayushman Bhava were taken up for the period of September 17 to October 3. Ayushman Mela, specialist health camps, and village level meetings would also be held. Besides, health workers and Asha workers would also go from house to house for providing the services under MSSSKA 5.0.
Three Ayushman Mitras and three Ni-kshay Mitras were also felicitated at today’s event. Chief Medical Officer Kamal Reang presented the welcome speech while Gomati District Hospital Medical Superintendent Kajal Kumar Das, Dr. Biswajit Pal, health workers, nursing students, Asha, health workers were also present on the occasion
