Tension prevailed in the Rajarbag area of Udaipur after local residents raised allegations that a spa centre near Arunachal Sangha was being used as a cover for illegal activities, prompting police intervention on Sunday night.
According to police, the spa centre had reportedly been operating in the area for around a year. Residents claimed they had been suspicious of activities taking place inside the establishment for some time. Their concerns intensified on Sunday night when a group of local youths entered the centre and allegedly found several people in objectionable and compromising situations.
Following the incident, local residents reportedly detained some of the persons present at the centre and informed the police. Personnel from Radhakishorepur police station and the Radhakishorepur women’s police station subsequently reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
Police took two women to the Radhakishorepur women’s police station and a youth to the Radhakishorepur police station for questioning. The youth was reportedly a personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF).
The manager of the spa centre allegedly fled the premises before police arrived at the location. Police have not yet confirmed the allegations made by local residents or disclosed details regarding any case registered in connection with the incident.
Officials are reportedly examining the nature of services being provided at the centre, along with its licences and other required approvals. Investigators are also looking into whether any other individuals were involved in activities at the premises.
Members of Arunachal Sangha, the local community club, were also reportedly preparing to approach the district administration and the district Superintendent of Police regarding the matter. Residents have sought clarification over the functioning of the spa centre and the activities allegedly taking place there.
