Tripura TET-qualified candidates demand immediate publication of GT and PGT merit lists, faster teacher recruitment, and appointments for all eligible candidates through a transparent, time-bound process, urging the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura to end delays and provide clarity.
Candidates who qualified the 2024 Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) have demanded the immediate publication of merit lists for Graduate Teacher (GT) and Post-Graduate Teacher (PGT) posts, along with the speedy completion of the teacher recruitment process in Tripura.
A group of TET-qualified aspirants met Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT) Chairman Pratyush Ranjan Deb at Shiksha Bhavan on Monday and submitted a deputation seeking urgent action on the pending recruitment process.
The candidates urged the TRBT to publish the merit lists for both GT and PGT posts without further delay. They also demanded that all eligible candidates who have qualified the TET examination be considered for recruitment through a single, transparent and time-bound process.
The latest demand comes amid growing anxiety among job aspirants over the prolonged uncertainty surrounding teacher recruitment. The candidates said a large number of qualified youths have been waiting for appointments and are increasingly concerned about delays in the process.
The aspirants also referred to reports concerning around 450 fake B.Ed colleges in neighbouring West Bengal, saying such developments had added to concerns among candidates regarding the verification of qualifications and the recruitment process. They called for clarity and transparency so that genuinely eligible TET-qualified candidates are not left waiting indefinitely.
According to the candidates, they have repeatedly approached the concerned authorities to press for publication of the pending merit lists and completion of recruitment. However, they alleged that their repeated appeals have not resulted in concrete action so far.
The aspirants further claimed that they had met the TRBT Chairman on several occasions and raised their concerns regarding the recruitment process. While assurances were reportedly given, the candidates said the commitments had not yet translated into visible progress on publication of the merit lists or appointments.
The candidates also claimed that they had made repeated attempts to meet Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha to raise the issue directly but were unsuccessful.
Seeking greater transparency in the recruitment process, the TET-qualified candidates called upon the state government and TRBT to take immediate steps to publish the pending GT and PGT merit lists.

They also demanded that the recruitment of all eligible TET-qualified candidates be completed within a clearly defined timeframe, bringing an end to the uncertainty faced by job aspirants.
The candidates maintained that timely action by the recruitment board would provide much-needed clarity to thousands of aspiring teachers awaiting the next stage of the appointment process.
