Gal Gadot says filming The Runner pushed her physically, mentally and emotionally, as the action thriller delivers an intense race through London.
Hollywood star Gal Gadot has opened up about the intense experience of filming her latest action thriller, The Runner, describing the project as one that pushed her physically, mentally and emotionally.
The actress recently took to social media to share a series of behind-the-scenes pictures from the production of the film. Alongside the images, Gadot reflected on the demanding nature of the shoot and the challenges she and the team faced while bringing the fast-paced thriller to the screen.
“The Runner!!!! This one took everything. Physically. Mentally. Emotionally. It wasn’t easy. It wasn’t supposed to be,” Gadot wrote in her social media post.
She went on to describe the demanding physical work involved during filming, saying the cast and crew “ran, fell” and continued moving forward until they reached the finish line. Despite the difficulties, Gadot expressed excitement about finally sharing the film with audiences.
The actress also teased viewers about the movie’s relentless pace, encouraging them to prepare for an experience that could keep their heartbeats racing.
“This movie doesn’t slow down, and hopefully neither will your heartbeat,” Gadot wrote, urging audiences to “buckle up” and enjoy the ride while avoiding spoilers about the film’s conclusion.
The Runner is a 2026 British action thriller directed by Kevin Macdonald from a screenplay by Mark Gibson. The film stars Gadot alongside Damian Lewis and Alfred Enoch.
The story follows Maia Martin, a prosecuting attorney who receives a mysterious command from an unknown caller. She is forced to race through London in a desperate attempt to prevent a star witness from testifying. The high-stakes mission becomes even more personal when Maia discovers that her son has been abducted.
The film combines action, suspense and a race against time, with Gadot taking on the central role in a story built around urgency and danger. Her comments about the demanding production highlight the physical and emotional intensity required to portray the character.
Gadot is best known internationally for portraying Wonder Woman in the DC Extended Universe. She first appeared as Diana Prince in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016 before leading Wonder Woman. She later reprised the role in Justice League and Wonder Woman 1984.
Before becoming a major Hollywood star, Gadot won the Miss Israel title in 2004 and later served two years in the Israel Defense Forces as a combat trainer. She made her television debut in the Israeli drama Bubot in 2008.
Her film career began with a supporting role as Gisele Yashar in Fast & Furious. She subsequently returned to the role in several installments of the franchise.
Over the years, Gadot has expanded her filmography with projects including Red Notice, Death on the Nile, Heart of Stone, Snow White and In the Hand of Dante.
