PM Modi met BJP’s newly appointed national office-bearers in New Delhi, stressing new ideas, organisational strengthening and deeper public connect as the party prepares for upcoming elections, youth outreach programmes and nationwide initiatives on Vande Mataram’s historical significance.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) newly appointed national office-bearers at the party headquarters in New Delhi, emphasising the importance of fresh ideas, organisational strengthening and deeper engagement with the people.

Sharing photographs of the interaction on social media platform X, Modi described organisational meetings as an opportunity to exchange “new ideas and perspectives” aimed at strengthening the party and expanding its connect with citizens.

“Organisational meetings are all about new ideas and perspectives aimed at strengthening the Party and deepening connect with the people. Great interaction with fellow Party colleagues and the new organisational team!” the Prime Minister said.

Modi was welcomed at the BJP headquarters by party president Nitin Nabin. He later posed for a group photograph with the newly appointed office-bearers.

The meeting was Modi’s first interaction with Nabin’s newly constituted national team since the BJP announced the appointments earlier this week. The 65-member team includes 51 new faces, with leaders from several states receiving key organisational responsibilities.

The interaction assumes significance as the BJP steps up preparations for a series of organisational programmes, public outreach campaigns and upcoming electoral challenges. Strengthening the party’s grassroots network and improving coordination among its state and national units remain key priorities for the new leadership team.

Earlier on Saturday, Nabin held a meeting with the newly appointed office-bearers and highlighted the importance of “Yuva Samvad”, or sustained dialogue with young people. The BJP is planning outreach initiatives aimed at people aged 14 years and above, with dedicated teams expected to be formed for the campaign.

Senior leaders from different states are likely to be involved in these teams, while the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has been assigned a role in assisting with their formation and coordinating mobilisation efforts. Former national office-bearers are also expected to receive responsibilities in the wider outreach campaign.

The BJP is simultaneously focusing on organisational preparedness for forthcoming Assembly elections. Party leaders are expected to work on strengthening the grassroots network and ensuring greater organisational readiness ahead of the polls.

Nabin is scheduled to chair another review meeting at the BJP headquarters extension on Sunday. The meeting will bring together State BJP presidents, organisational general secretaries and state in-charges. Preparations for elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab are expected to feature prominently in the discussions, along with upcoming party programmes and broader organisational matters.

Modi’s meeting with the new team also came on a day when the BJP passed a resolution defending the historical legacy and significance of Vande Mataram. The resolution criticised the Congress Working Committee’s decision to follow its 1937 resolution and restrict the National Song’s use at party programmes to its first two stanzas.

The BJP said it would oppose attempts to subordinate Vande Mataram to what it described as “communal pressure, political appeasement, or narrow vote-bank considerations.”

The party has also announced a nationwide campaign aimed at creating awareness about the history and significance of Vande Mataram.

With the new organisational team taking charge, the BJP is expected to intensify its focus on grassroots mobilisation, youth engagement and electoral preparedness. Modi’s interaction with the office-bearers underlined the leadership’s emphasis on organisational coordination, fresh perspectives and maintaining a strong connection with the people.
