Dulquer Salmaan’s action entertainer ‘I’m Game’, directed by Nahas Hidhayath, will now release worldwide on September 3 instead of August 20, with a wider multilingual theatrical release across Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada markets.

Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan has announced that his much-awaited action entertainer ‘I’m Game’ will no longer arrive in theatres on its previously announced release date of August 20. The film, directed by Nahas Hidhayath, has now been scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on September 3, with the makers promising a larger and wider theatrical rollout across multiple markets.

Dulquer Salmaan shared the updated release information on Thursday, acknowledging the growing anticipation among audiences who have been eagerly waiting to see the actor return to Malayalam cinema. While the postponement means fans will have to wait a little longer, the actor explained that the decision was taken with a broader vision for the film and its theatrical presentation.

In his statement, Dulquer said, “The game gets bigger. The release gets wider.” He also acknowledged the disappointment surrounding the delay and apologised to audiences who had been expecting the film to arrive on August 20. According to the actor, the new September 3 date will allow ‘I’m Game’ to reach a significantly wider theatrical audience.

The film will now simultaneously release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada, expanding its reach across India and beyond. The makers believe that a multilingual release will give the action entertainer a stronger theatrical platform and allow audiences in different regions to experience the film on the big screen.

Dulquer further explained that the revised release date was chosen to give ‘I’m Game’ the scale, reach and theatrical platform it deserves. The announcement suggests that the team is aiming for a major pan-Indian theatrical rollout rather than limiting the film’s initial release to selected markets.

Directed by Nahas Hidhayath, ‘I’m Game’ has been mounted on an ambitious scale and marks Dulquer Salmaan’s return to Malayalam cinema. The project has generated considerable interest because of its action-oriented premise, large production scale and extensive filming schedule.

The film reportedly completed an 11-month shooting schedule spanning 156 days, with production taking place across more than 100 locations in South India. The extensive shoot reflects the scale of the project and the filmmakers’ efforts to create a visually expansive action entertainer.

‘I’m Game’ features an ensemble cast that includes Antony Varghese, Mysskin, Kayadu Lohar, Kathir, Parth Tiwari and Samyuktha Viswanathan. The combination of established performers and emerging talent has added to the curiosity surrounding the film.

Music for the project has been composed by Jakes Bejoy, while the high-octane action sequences have been choreographed by Anbariv Masters, known for their work on several major Indian action productions. Their involvement further underlines the film’s emphasis on large-scale action and theatrical entertainment.

The movie is produced by Dulquer Salmaan and Jom Varghese under the banner of Wayfarer Films. With its extensive production schedule, multilingual release strategy and nationwide theatrical plans, the film is being positioned as an important Malayalam release with ambitions extending well beyond the home market.

With the release now locked for September 3, anticipation around Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘I’m Game’ is expected to continue building. The makers have indicated that the additional time will help the film achieve a wider theatrical presence, making the wait longer but potentially expanding the experience for audiences across different languages and markets.
