IT collection over eight lakh crore so far; 23.09% higher than last fiscal same period

The Income Tax Department, as of the 10th of this month, has collected over 8.11 lakh crore rupees net direct tax for the financial year 2026-27 so far. It is 23.09 percent higher growth as compared to the financial year 2025-2026 during the same period. The collection includes corporate tax of over 2.70 lakh crore rupees and non-corporate tax of 5.07 lakh crore rupees.

The department has also issued refunds of over one lakh 43 thousand crore rupees. The gross direct collection has recorded a significant growth of over 19 per cent, amounting to more than nine lakh 54 thousand crore rupees.
