Indian weightlifter Maharajan Arumugapandian clinched the silver medal in the men’s 65 kg category at the Asian Junior Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan today.
Maharajan produced a new personal best total of 285 kilograms, lifting 128 kg in the snatch and 157 kg in the clean and jerk to secure silver. Vietnam’s Hoang Thach claimed the gold medal with a total lift of 291 kilograms, finishing six kilograms ahead of Maharajan.
