In Cricket, India A defeated Hosts Sri Lanka by 66 runs in the Summit Clash of Tri-Nation A Series in Dambulla today. Put into bat, India A posted a mammoth 377 runs for the loss of nine wickets in stipulated 50 overs. Teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continued his meteoric rise in world cricket with a breathtaking innings of 94 runs off just 29 balls, including record-breaking half-century in just 11 balls. Tilak Varma also made valuable contribution with 67 runs off 90 balls. For Sri Lanka A, Kugathas Mathulan, Ravindu Fernando and Wanuja Sahan claimed two wickets each.
In reply, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 311 in 47.1 overs. For Hosts, Wanuja Sahhan was the top-scorer with 62 runs off 69-balls followed by Sadeera Samarawickrama with 52 runs off 44 runs. For visitors, Yash Thakur and Vipraj Nigam picked three wickets each and Ankul Roy took two wickets.
