Tripura Government appoints senior IAS officer Shantanu as the new CEO of TTAADC after his return from central deputation. The 1997-batch IAS officer will also serve as Principal Secretary and oversee the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, aiming to strengthen governance and development in tribal areas.

The Tripura Government has appointed senior IAS officer Shantanu as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). A 1997-batch IAS officer of the Tripura cadre, Shantanu will take charge at the TTAADC headquarters in Khumulwng, replacing Raval Hemendra Kumar, IAS, who previously held the position.

The appointment was announced through a notification issued by the General Administration (Personnel & Training) Department. According to the notification, Shantanu has been repatriated from central deputation and posted as Principal Secretary to the Government of Tripura in the Higher Administrative Grade (HAG) at Level 15 of the Pay Matrix.

In addition to his responsibilities as Principal Secretary, he has been entrusted with the additional charge of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department. The government has also assigned him the crucial responsibility of serving as the CEO of TTAADC, one of the state’s most important autonomous governing institutions overseeing tribal areas.

Shantanu is widely recognized as one of Tripura’s most experienced and accomplished bureaucrats. During his tenure on central deputation, he served as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) in New Delhi. In that capacity, he played an important role in formulating and implementing policies aimed at promoting growth, infrastructure development, and socio-economic progress across the northeastern states.

Government officials believe that Shantanu’s return to the state administration will bring renewed momentum to governance and development efforts. His extensive experience in public administration, policy execution, and development management is expected to help improve coordination between state and central government agencies.

Administrative circles view his appointment as particularly significant for TTAADC, which plays a pivotal role in implementing welfare schemes and development projects across Tripura’s tribal regions. With his experience at both state and national levels, Shantanu is expected to facilitate faster execution of infrastructure projects, improve delivery of public services, and strengthen institutional governance within the autonomous district council.

The notification further stated that K. Sasikumar has been relieved of the charge of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department. Meanwhile, Raval Hemendra Kumar will be relieved of his additional responsibility as CEO of TTAADC once Shantanu formally assumes office and completes the transition process.

The latest administrative reshuffle reflects the state government’s efforts to place experienced officers in key positions to enhance efficiency, accountability, and service delivery. Authorities emphasized that the appointments have been made in the interest of public service and effective governance.
