A decision to keep educational institutions open amid challenging weather conditions has drawn attention across Tripura, as authorities continue to balance safety with normalcy. Chief Minister Manik Saha confirmed that Anganwadi centres, schools, and colleges will remain operational for the time being, despite ongoing heavy rainfall and strong winds affecting several parts of the state.

The announcement followed a comprehensive review meeting held on Wednesday evening at 4:30 PM, where the Chief Minister evaluated the overall situation and the extent of disruption caused by the adverse weather. Officials from key departments provided updates on infrastructure conditions, public safety measures, and the readiness of emergency response teams.

According to the Chief Minister, the current situation is under control, and there is no immediate need to suspend academic activities. However, he emphasized that the administration remains on high alert and is prepared to take swift action if weather conditions deteriorate further. The government’s approach, he noted, is focused on maintaining essential services while ensuring that safety protocols are strictly followed.

During the meeting, directives were issued to all departments to prioritize public safety and ensure that relief measures are implemented without delay wherever needed. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of coordination among various agencies, including district administrations, disaster management authorities, and law enforcement, to effectively manage any emergencies.

An integrated disaster management strategy is already in place, with teams working around the clock to monitor vulnerable areas and respond promptly to incidents. Authorities have been instructed to maintain clear communication channels and provide timely updates to the public to prevent panic and misinformation.
