A coordinated administrative effort is underway in West Tripura to stabilize the situation following the recent Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections, with officials expressing cautious optimism about improving conditions on the ground.
A high-level team comprising district and police authorities conducted a field visit to Mandwi on Thursday to assess the prevailing law and order scenario. The delegation was led by District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar and Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak, along with other senior officials. The visit came in response to directives issued by Manik Saha, who emphasized the need for heightened vigilance and proactive governance in sensitive areas after the elections.
During the visit, the team held review meetings at the Mandwi Block Office and the local police station. Officials discussed the current security framework, response mechanisms, and strategies to prevent any escalation of tensions. Clear instructions were issued to ensure round-the-clock monitoring and swift action against any potential disturbances.
Interacting directly with local residents and administrative personnel, the District Magistrate noted that the situation is gradually returning to normal. He highlighted that strict precautionary measures have been implemented to maintain peace and prevent untoward incidents. The administration is also focusing on restoring public confidence through visible enforcement and continuous engagement with the community.
Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak reaffirmed that the law and order situation is currently under control. He assured residents that police forces are maintaining close surveillance and are prepared to respond promptly if needed. Citizens were urged to remain calm, avoid spreading misinformation, and cooperate with authorities.
