In Nagaland, peaceful polling is underway across all 30 polling stations for the by-election to the 28 Koridang Assembly Constituency in Mokokchung district. Polling began at 7 AM amid heightened security arrangements and will continue till 4 PM. Minor EVM malfunctions were reported at a few polling stations but they were promptly replaced to ensure smooth voting.
Over 22,300 electors are set to decide the fate of six candidates. Out of the 30 polling stations, 17 have been identified as critical and 13 as vulnerable. Additional security forces have been deployed at sensitive locations, including one company of CAPF along with state armed police across all polling stations.
Notably, two polling stations are being entirely managed by women polling personnel. The estimated voter turnout, as of 11 AM, stands at 41.06 percent.
