Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expresses strong confidence in Bharatiya Janata Party victory in TTAADC elections, citing massive public support, tribal trust, and development agenda driven by Narendra Modi leadership.
Chief Minister of Tripura Dr. Manik Saha, has expressed strong confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will secure a decisive victory in the upcoming elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), scheduled for April 12.
Addressing party workers and supporters during multiple nomination rallies across key constituencies, the Chief Minister emphasized that overwhelming public participation and enthusiasm reflect a growing wave of support for the BJP, particularly among tribal communities in the state.
Massive Turnout Reflects Public Trust
Dr. Saha participated in the nomination filing rally of BJP candidate Bimal Debbarma in the Kulai-Champhahaur constituency, where a large number of people joined voluntarily. According to the Chief Minister, the spontaneous participation of the public and the unwavering energy of party workers demonstrate a firm commitment toward development and governance.
“The love and blessings of the people are our driving force,” he stated, adding that the BJP is determined to form a “triple-engine government” in the TTAADC under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The concept of a triple-engine government refers to political alignment between the Centre, the State, and local governing bodies, which BJP leaders believe accelerates development and policy implementation.
Grassroots Connect and ‘Vocal for Local’ Push
In a notable moment during his campaign, Dr. Saha halted his convoy at Jeolcherra in Atharomura to interact with local women selling vegetables by the roadside. Calling it a “heartwarming experience,” he purchased fresh produce from them, reinforcing the Prime Minister’s ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative.

This interaction, party insiders say, highlights the BJP leadership’s focus on grassroots engagement and economic empowerment of local communities, especially women and small vendors in rural and tribal areas.
Strong Tribal Backing Key to BJP’s Strategy
The Chief Minister underscored that the trust and confidence of Janajati (tribal) communities remain the BJP’s biggest strength in the ADC regions. He described the party as the most reliable option for ensuring holistic development and improving the quality of life in these areas.
Dr. Saha also attended nomination filing events in Longtharai Valley in Dhalai district, where BJP candidates Bipin Debbarma (Damchhara-Kachuchhara), Sukesh Dutta Barua (Manu-Chailenga), and Esmail Joy Tripura (Chawmanu) officially submitted their nominations.
“The huge public gathering we witnessed is a clear reflection of people’s increasing faith in the BJP,” he said. “With this enthusiasm and unwavering support, we are confident of winning the upcoming ADC elections.”
BJP Completes Nominations for All Seats
The Chief Minister confirmed that all 28 BJP candidates filed their nomination papers on the final day of submission, signaling strong organizational preparedness ahead of the polls. Senior leaders, including MLA Shambhu Lal Chakma, joined the rallies along with thousands of party workers.

The TTAADC, considered the second most significant constitutional body in Tripura after the state assembly, comprises 30 members—28 elected and two nominated by the state government.
Multi-Cornered Contest Intensifies
The upcoming elections are expected to witness a multi-cornered contest. While the BJP is contesting all seats, its allies—the Tipra Motha Party (TMP) and the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT)—have fielded separate candidates.
Opposition parties, including the CPI(M) and the Congress, have also entered the fray, each aiming to consolidate tribal votes in the politically crucial council.
Political observers note that the elections will serve as a key indicator of voter sentiment in tribal areas and could influence future political alignments in the state.
Counting Scheduled for April 17
Polling for the TTAADC elections will take place on April 12, with vote counting scheduled for April 17. As campaigning intensifies, all parties are ramping up outreach efforts to secure maximum support.

However, BJP leaders remain optimistic. Backed by what they describe as unprecedented public enthusiasm and the continued popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the party is positioning itself for a decisive mandate in the tribal council.
