Foundation stone laid for a modern two-storied building at West Pilak Higher Secondary School in Jolaibari. Minister Sukla Charan Noatia announces Rs 9 crore project to strengthen rural education infrastructure and boost academic opportuities for students.
West Pilak witnessed a significant milestone in its educational journey on Thursday as the foundation stone for a new two-storied academic building was laid at West Pilak Higher Secondary School. The ceremony was led by Sukla Charan Noatia, Minister and MLA of Jolaibari constituency, in the presence of local leaders, members of the school management committee, teachers, parents, and enthusiastic students.
The foundation-laying ceremony marked the beginning of a transformative chapter for the institution and the surrounding community. Addressing the gathering, Minister Noatia reiterated the state government’s firm commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure across both hilly and plain regions. He stressed that quality education must not remain confined to urban centers, but should reach the remotest villages without discrimination.
The upcoming two-storied building will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 9 crore. Once completed, it will feature modern classrooms, enhanced learning spaces, and essential facilities designed to improve the overall academic environment. The project aims to accommodate the growing number of students and provide them with a safe, comfortable, and technologically equipped setting for learning.
Minister Noatia expressed optimism that the new infrastructure would significantly uplift the standard of education in the region. He stated that investments in school infrastructure are long-term investments in the future of the state, as they directly impact students’ performance and confidence. According to him, the government is focused on creating equal opportunities for every child, regardless of geographical challenges.
During his speech, the Minister also reflected on the condition of educational institutions under the previous Left administration. He pointed out that many schools had struggled with inadequate classrooms, insufficient drinking water facilities, and a lack of basic amenities. In contrast, he asserted that the present government has taken consistent steps to bridge infrastructural gaps and modernize institutions across the Jolaibari constituency.
He further highlighted that since the political shift in the constituency, development initiatives have accelerated in hill villages. Visible improvements have been made not only in education but also in roads, healthcare services, and other essential sectors. The West Pilak school project, he said, stands as a testament to the administration’s broader vision of inclusive and sustainable growth.
