FIEO welcomes finalisation of India

Must Read

The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) has welcomed the finalisation of the India-US Trade Deal. It said the United States has reduced tariffs on Indian-made products to 18%, terming it a significant step towards strengthening bilateral trade relations. FIEO President S C Ralhan described the development as a historic milestone for Indian exporters, saying the tariff reduction will enhance the competitiveness of the country’s products in the US market.

He stressed that this will provide a strong impetus to export growth, particularly for MSMEs. He said sectors including engineering goods, textiles and apparel, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, leather products, gems and jewellery, and agricultural products are expected to benefit substantially from the rationalisation.
