FPIs Withdraw ₹44,166 Crore from Indian Equities in October So Far

Must Read

Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) have offloaded Indian equities worth 44,166 crore rupees in October so far. According to the latest depository data, out of the total net outflows, 45,126 crore rupees were withdrawn through selling on stock exchanges as elevated crude oil prices, a firmer US dollar and higher US bond yields weighed on investor sentiment. However, the trend of FPI investments through the primary market continued, recording inflows of 960 crore rupees so far this month.

Meanwhile, the debt market has witnessed a mixed trend in Foreign Portfolio Investors’ flows during the period under review. In October so far, FPIs have infused 4,729 crore rupees into debt securities through the General Limit route. In contrast, withdrawals from the Fully Accessible Route (FAR) stood at 1,921 crore rupees, while the Voluntary Retention Route (VRR) recorded outflows of 233 crore rupees.
