Tripura Minister Ratan Lal Nath announces rise in per capita income over seven years while inaugurating Tripura Gramin Bank e-Lobby at Mohonpur, highlighting financial growth, digital banking expansion, and improved living standards across the state.
Tripura has witnessed a significant rise in annual per capita income over the last seven years, reflecting overall socio-economic development and improved living standards, said State Power and Agriculture Minister and local MLA Ratan Lal Nath on Thursday.
The minister made this statement while inaugurating a newly established e-Lobby facility of Tripura Gramin Bank at Mohonpur Market. The digital banking facility has been introduced to provide round-the-clock financial services to local residents, especially those in rural and semi-urban areas.
The newly inaugurated e-Lobby will remain operational 24 hours a day, enabling customers to withdraw cash at any time. In addition, account holders of Tripura Gramin Bank can deposit cash, print and update passbooks, and access mini statements without visiting the bank branch. This initiative aims to reduce overcrowding at bank counters and bring modern banking services closer to the people.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Nath highlighted the financial strength of the banking sector in the state. He stated that deposits in the State Bank of India branches across Tripura have reached ₹13,942 crore, while Tripura Gramin Bank’s 150 branches collectively hold deposits amounting to ₹10,196 crore. He further revealed that residents of Mohonpur alone, numbering 28,628 people, have deposited ₹55.66 crore in banks, reflecting growing financial awareness and trust in the banking system.
Emphasizing the broader development achieved under the current government, the minister said that the rise in per capita income over the past seven years has reduced basic insecurities among citizens. “Today, people are no longer worried about food security. Almost every family has a permanent house, students are receiving improved education, and power supply services have become more reliable,” he said.

Minister Nath also praised India’s banking system, calling it one of the strongest and most stable in the world due to its credibility and resilience. He noted that initiatives like digital e-Lobbies and advanced ATM services are transforming rural banking and making financial inclusion a reality.
“With this new ATM and passbook printing facility, rural bank customers can now withdraw and deposit cash, check mini statements, and update passbooks without standing in long queues. Tripura Gramin Bank has truly come closer to the people,” the minister added.
