Actor Randeep Hooda says language and culture are strengths, not limitations. The star supports regional storytelling while preparing for Operation Khukri and welcoming his first child with wife Lin Laishram.

Actor Randeep Hooda has always stood out in Indian cinema for his intense performances, fearless choices, and deep respect for authenticity. Beyond the screen, the actor continues to make thoughtful statements about identity, language, and cultural roots—values that have consistently guided both his personal life and professional journey.

Speaking about his connection to regional cultures, Randeep emphasized that language and tradition should never be viewed as obstacles in a globalized world. Instead, he believes they serve as powerful strengths that shape individual perspective and creative expression.

“I’ve always believed in embracing your roots as we move forward with time. For me, language and culture are not limitations; they are strengths that shape who we are and how we see the world,” Randeep said during a recent interaction.

The actor is now associating himself with a platform dedicated to regional storytelling, particularly focusing on Haryanvi, Rajasthani, and Bhojpuri narratives. His involvement reflects a growing movement within Indian entertainment to amplify voices from grassroots cultures and preserve linguistic diversity.

Randeep explained that the stories which resonate most deeply are those rooted in lived experiences. “The stories that stay with us the longest are the ones that sound familiar, feel lived-in, and come from a place of truth. Associating with storytelling that honours regional languages and cultural identity feels deeply personal to me, because it reflects the values I’ve always carried with me,” he said.

In an industry often dominated by mainstream narratives, Hooda’s support for regional storytelling underscores a broader shift toward inclusive representation. He believes that regional languages carry emotional depth, historical memory, and cultural wisdom that cannot be replaced by uniform storytelling.

Beyond his professional commitments, Randeep is also entering an exciting new chapter in his personal life. The actor and his wife, Lin Laishram, are preparing to welcome their first child. The couple shared the joyful news on Instagram on November 29 through a heartfelt joint post.

“Two years of love, adventure, and now… a little wild one on the way,” they wrote, accompanied by affectionate emojis that reflected their excitement and warmth.

Randeep and Lin’s love story traces back to their early days at veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah’s theatre group, Motley. Their shared passion for theatre and performance gradually blossomed into a deep personal bond. During the lockdown period, the couple began living together, strengthening their relationship away from the public eye.

They made their relationship Instagram official in 2022, earning admiration for their understated and genuine connection. On November 29, 2023, the couple tied the knot in a traditional Meitei ceremony in Manipur, honoring Lin Laishram’s cultural heritage and reinforcing Randeep’s long-held belief in respecting roots and traditions.

On the professional front, Randeep was last seen in the Sunny Deol-starrer action film Jaat, where his performance once again drew attention for its intensity. However, his most ambitious project yet lies ahead.

The actor will next appear in the epic war drama Operation Khukri, based on the book Operation Khukri: The Untold Story of the Indian Army’s Bravest Peacekeeping Mission Abroad, authored by Major General Rajpal Punia and Damini Punia. Randeep has officially secured the film rights to bring this powerful real-life story to the big screen.

Operation Khukri recounts the dramatic events of the year 2000, when 233 Indian soldiers serving as United Nations peacekeepers were taken hostage by rebel forces in Sierra Leone, West Africa. The film will depict the tense negotiations, the unforgiving jungle terrain, and the daring rescue mission that followed—one of the most remarkable operations in Indian military history.

Randeep will portray Major General Rajpal Punia, who was then a young Company Commander of the 14th Mechanised Infantry. The role demands both physical endurance and emotional depth, as the character navigates leadership, survival, and courage under extreme conditions.

Known for his dedication to realism, Hooda’s portrayal is expected to bring authenticity and respect to the sacrifices of Indian soldiers. As he continues to balance meaningful cinema with personal milestones, Randeep Hooda remains a compelling figure whose commitment to culture, truth, and storytelling continues to inspire.
