A 19-year-old Class XII Science student has been missing for the past four days after leaving his residence to attend private tuition, triggering serious concern among family members and prompting police investigation in North Tripura’s Kadamtala area.
The missing student has been identified as Subrata Das, son of Girindra Kumar Das, a resident of Khandpara area, Ward No. 1, Brajendranagar, under the jurisdiction of Kadamtala Police Station. Subrata is currently enrolled at Bir Bikram Institution, Dharmanagar, where he is pursuing his higher secondary education in the science stream.
According to family sources, Subrata is regarded as a disciplined and academically bright student. He completed his secondary education from Brajendranagar School with good results and later secured admission to Bir Bikram Institution. However, recently, the school authorities reportedly informed the family that Subrata had skipped one subject examination, raising concern at home.
Family members stated that the matter was discussed between Subrata and his elder brother a day before his disappearance. On Sunday around noon, Subrata left his home, telling his family that he was going to his tutor’s house for private study. Since then, he has not returned, and all attempts to contact him have failed as his mobile phone remains unreachable.
Deeply worried about his son’s safety, Girindra Kumar Das approached Kadamtala Police Station and filed a missing diary the following day. He also informed the police that extensive searches were conducted by the family, including inquiries with relatives, friends, classmates, and tuition centers, but no information regarding Subrata’s whereabouts could be found.
Police officials confirmed that an investigation is currently underway. They are examining possible travel routes, tuition locations, and academic connections to trace the missing student. Authorities have also appealed to the public to come forward with any relevant information that could assist in locating him.
