Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha inaugurates Ramakrishna Mission-Rotary Mobile Dental Clinic van, delivering advanced dental care to remote areas. The initiative supports last-mile healthcare, alongside plans for a government dental college to boost regional health development.
Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha expressed immense joy and satisfaction today at the inauguration of the Ramakrishna Mission-Rotary Mobile Dental Clinic Van at Ramakrishna Mission, Viveknagar, Amtali. This initiative, a joint effort by the Rotary Club of Agartala City and the Ramakrishna Mission, is poised to bring modern and quality dental care services directly to people’s doorsteps, especially those in remote and underserved areas.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Saha said, “I am deeply connected with the Ramakrishna Mission and its spirit of selfless service. The inauguration of this mobile dental clinic is a shining example of how dedicated organizations can bring health services closer to the community. With the vision of ‘healing through care,’ this van will play a vital role in improving oral health across Tripura.”

The mobile dental clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including two dental chairs worth approximately Rs. 60 lakh, and can accommodate a team of around ten healthcare professionals. It will provide free or affordable treatment for dental and oral health issues, thus bridging the gap between advanced healthcare and the people at the grassroots level.
Dr. Saha emphasized the state government’s commitment to last-mile delivery of welfare schemes, highlighting the importance of inclusive development. “Our government is working relentlessly to implement welfare schemes that reach even the most remote corners of society. The mobile dental clinic reflects the Prime Minister’s vision of ensuring every citizen benefits from government programs.”
In addition to healthcare, the Chief Minister revealed plans to establish a government dental college in Tripura, a milestone previously unimagined. “Within just eight months, we have overcome numerous challenges to set this up, showing our dedication to the health sector and overall progress in Tripura.”
On the subject of the development of the Northeast region, Dr. Saha updated the public on recent high-level task force meetings focused on tourism and infrastructure growth. Despite political distractions, he reaffirmed his dedication to regional development. “I have never missed any important meeting and always fulfil my responsibilities with full commitment for the Northeast’s advancement.”
Addressing criticism from opposition parties, Dr. Saha said, “While opposition members spend their time finding faults and politicking over the phone, our government is focused on constructive progress and the welfare of all communities, especially the Janajati people.”
The Chief Minister also acknowledged the cultural and educational contributions of the Ramakrishna Mission. He announced his request to the Mission’s governing body to introduce foreign language courses at Viveknagar in addition to English, a project that has been approved in principle.
