Vishal’s upcoming film Magudam completes its massive 17-night climax shoot featuring 100 stuntmen. With Vishal debuting as director and a strong technical crew onboard, the film enters post-production and prepares for its next major updates.
The team behind actor Vishal’s much-anticipated film Magudam has achieved a major milestone, as the actor announced on Monday that the shooting of the massive climax sequence has finally been completed. The update was shared through a video clip posted on Vishal’s official X handle, where he offered fans a glimpse into the scale, intensity, and dedication that went into crafting the film’s high-octane final stretch.
In his post, Vishal wrote, “Climax Sequence: DONE. 17 days. Non-stop. High-voltage action. #Magudam / #Makutam enters its next phase.” His message highlighted not just the completion of the sequence but also the extraordinary effort involved, including an uninterrupted 17-night shooting schedule dedicated entirely to the climax.
A Massive Production Effort
Earlier this month, reports had emerged that the production team had begun shooting an ambitious climax sequence featuring approximately 100 stunt performers. The video released by Vishal Film Factory further confirmed the sheer scale of the setup, showcasing adrenaline-packed stunts, heavy-duty action choreography, and a large technical crew coordinating around the clock.
The production house had stated proudly, “Vishal’s Directorial Debut movie Magudam/Makutam climax goes massive. Intense action at its peak with 100 stuntmen and 800 crew members.” This enormous manpower reflects the magnitude of the sequence, which is expected to be one of the film’s major highlights.
Vishal Steps In as Director
Magudam also marks a significant chapter in Vishal’s career, as he has stepped into the role of director for the first time. Although the film was initially helmed by well-known filmmaker Ravi Arasu, creative differences reportedly emerged during the filmmaking process. According to industry sources, Vishal took over direction out of responsibility and a commitment to preserving the film’s vision, rather than out of any compulsion.
The actor had recently confirmed, “The decision to direct Magudam was not forced. It was a responsibility I took to ensure the film stayed true to its core idea.” Social media clips circulating earlier had shown him actively guiding the crew, further confirming his expanded role behind the camera.
Post-Production Already in Motion
While the team has now wrapped the climax shoot, sources close to the production confirmed that post-production work is already progressing in parallel. This includes editing, visual effects, and background scoring. Vishal himself has begun dubbing for his portions, indicating that the film is now entering its final stages before completion.
Strong Cast and Technical Crew
Magudam features Vishal in the lead role, supported by actresses Dushara Vijayan and Anjali, who play significant characters in the storyline. Dushara Vijayan had recently completed filming all her portions for the project.
The film boasts a robust technical lineup, including:
-
Richard M. Nathan, the acclaimed cinematographer who reunites with Vishal after their successful collaboration on Madha Gaja Raja
-
G.V. Prakash Kumar, composing the music after the positive reception to his work in Mark Antony
-
NB Srikanth, handling editing
-
Durairaj, in charge of art direction
-
Vasuki Bhaskar, leading costume design
This combination is expected to bring high production value and strong artistic finesse to the film.
Completion of Major Schedules
The team recently wrapped their third schedule in Ooty before moving to Chennai, where the final phase of shooting took place at TR Gardens. Vishal began filming Magudam, his 35th film, on August 1 in Chennai, and its steady progress has drawn significant attention from fans and industry watchers alike.
A Film with Big Expectations
With its scale, action-heavy sequences, and Vishal’s new role as director, Magudam has become one of the most talked-about Tamil films currently in production. The successful completion of its extensive climax shoot marks a significant leap toward the film’s release. Fans now eagerly await the next updates, especially the teaser or trailer, which is expected to showcase the grandeur and intensity hinted at in the behind-the-scenes clips.
