Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha accused the previous Left government of turning job recruitment into a farce, emphasizing that the BJP government has ensured transparency, fairness, and development in education and employment under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha launched a sharp attack on the previous Left Front government, accusing it of turning public job recruitment into a political farce. He asserted that the ruling BJP government has ushered in an era of transparency, fairness, and accountability in recruitment processes, education, and governance.

Speaking after inaugurating the Kakraban Government Degree College and a 50-bed girls’ hostel at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) in Gomati district.
Saha said the current administration is prioritizing quality education and merit-based employment to build a better future for the youth.
“Our government is ensuring transparency and impartiality in every sector, including job recruitment. The days of party favoritism and political manipulation are over,” said the Chief Minister.
Criticism of the Left’s ‘Red Politics’ and Misrule
Saha strongly criticized the previous CPI(M)-led Left Front regime, alleging that it had turned educational institutions into centers of chaos and violence.
“Those indoctrinated with communist ideology created anarchy in schools and colleges under the banner of Naxalism. No one knew when a bomb might explode or who would be injured. Such was the situation then,” he said.
According to Saha, the politics of fear and favoritism were deeply entrenched during the Left era. He claimed that only party loyalists were given government jobs, while deserving candidates were ignored.

“If someone was not from their party, they would not get a job. People are now realizing that a farce was made in the name of jobs during their rule,” he added.
Transparency and Development Under BJP
Highlighting the BJP government’s achievements since coming to power in Tripura, the Chief Minister said, “So far, our government has provided about 20,000 jobs. There has been no challenge anywhere, as we are working transparently.”

He further noted that the state government is determined to create a peaceful and progressive Tripura under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
“Attempts are being made to eliminate the Maoist mindset that once thrived here. People no longer want politics of incitement; they want development and peace,” Saha said.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that communists still attempt to provoke people through unions like the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), but “Tripura’s citizens have moved beyond that era of agitation politics.”
Focus on Education and Youth Empowerment
Saha reaffirmed that education remains one of the top priorities of his administration. The inauguration of Kakraban Government Degree College and the DIET girls’ hostel reflects the government’s commitment to expanding higher education and supporting rural students.
“Today marks a joyous day for the people of Kakraban. This new college and hostel will open new horizons for the region’s youth,” he said in Bengali during his address.
He urged students to combine academics with social service, echoing Prime Minister Modi’s vision of education as a means of nation-building and value creation.
“Education is not just about textbooks—it is about values, service, and nation-building,” Saha reminded students.
Leaders Present and Future Vision
Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Higher Education Minister Kishore Barman, MLAs Jitendra Majumder and Ranjit Das, and local leaders including Gomati Zilla Parishad President Debal Debroy and Kakraban Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Supriya Saha attended the event.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the government’s goal is to build a self-reliant, educated, and prosperous Tripura through transparent governance, improved education, and inclusive development.
