Sensex Falls 722 Points to 83,216; Nifty Dips 230 Points to 25,492

Must Read

Benchmark domestic equity indices, Sensex and Nifty, ended lower for the second consecutive week as Foreign Institutional Investor (FII) selling, cautious global cues, and profit-booking outweighed optimism over corporate earnings. In a holiday-shortened week, markets declined in three out of four trading sessions.

The 30-share index at the Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex, dropped 722 points, or 0.86 per cent, during the week to end at 83,216. The NSE Nifty 50 dipped 230 points, almost 0.9 per cent, to close at 25,492.
