The electioneering for the second and final phase of the Bihar Assembly polls is at a high pitch. Various leaders of political parties are trying their best to woo the voters. Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed an election rally in Sitamarhi. The Prime Minister said that the NDA not only focuses on development but also preserves the state’s heritage. He said that the NDA government, under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, has rebuilt the faith of the people of Bihar, and now investors are eager to come to the state.
Mr Modi will address another election rally in Bettiah. Janata Dal (United) President and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar addressed public meetings in Rafiganj in Aurangabad and Imamganj in Gaya. Speaking in Rafiganj, he said that after assuming power in 2005, his government made remarkable improvements in the education and health sectors. The Chief Minister pointed out that earlier, only 39 people used to visit government health centres in a year, but now a large number of people are availing medical services.
On the other hand, Senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi addressed an election rally in Kadwa, Katihar district. Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav, while addressing an election rally in Jamui, said that he is committed to solving the problem of unemployment. He assured that if the Mahagathbandhan comes to power, all promises made to the people will be fulfilled.
Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) Chief and Mahagathbandhan’s Deputy Chief Minister candidate, Mukesh Sahani, said that the youth of the state want change. Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor criticised the NDA, asserting that Bihar lacks factories and jobs. He said that voters are demanding employment opportunities and industrial development in the state.
