Lalu Prasad Yadav taunts Nitish Kumar after Bihar poll dates are announced, predicting the NDA’s downfall with a cryptic post “Six and Eleven, NDA Nine Two Eleven” as Bihar gears up for Assembly elections on November 6 and 11.

A day after the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the schedule for the much-anticipated Bihar Assembly elections, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav launched a fresh round of political attacks against the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government. The veteran leader, known for his wit and wordplay, took to social media to deliver a cryptic yet sharp message hinting at the possible downfall of the ruling alliance.

Posting on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Lalu Yadav wrote, “Chhah aur Gyarah, NDA – Nau do Gyarah,” meaning “Six and eleven, NDA nine two eleven.” The phrase — a popular Hindi idiom meaning “to disappear” — was a play on the upcoming polling dates: November 6 and November 11. The post quickly gained traction, with political observers and social media users interpreting it as Lalu’s prediction that the Nitish-led NDA government would vanish from Bihar’s political landscape after the elections.

A Symbolic Attack on the Double-Engine Government

Lalu Prasad Yadav’s cryptic comment came as an indirect jab at the so-called “double-engine government” — a term used by the BJP and its allies to highlight the synergy between the state and central governments under the NDA banner. However, Lalu’s post suggested that this engine might soon run out of steam.

This isn’t the first time the RJD supremo has taunted Nitish Kumar. Over the past few months, Yadav has consistently criticized the NDA’s governance, accusing it of corruption, rising unemployment, and failure to maintain law and order in the state. In another recent post, he alleged that Bihar’s administrative machinery was crippled by “rampant corruption” and claimed that the state’s development had stagnated under the current leadership.

Nitish Kumar’s Viral Gesture Adds to the Political Drama

Lalu’s comments came just as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was facing online mockery over a viral video. The video, shared widely across social media, showed Nitish Kumar sitting with folded hands for nearly a minute during a virtual Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh 2025 — a national skill convocation ceremony for ITI toppers where Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented certificates to students.

While the event was intended to celebrate skill development, it took an unexpected turn as Nitish’s prolonged gesture caught public attention and drew sarcastic remarks from political rivals and netizens alike. The RJD chief did not miss the opportunity to amplify the incident, posting the video on his social media accounts and using it as a fresh example of what he described as the Chief Minister’s “confused and defeated demeanour.”

Rallying Behind Tejashwi Yadav

Alongside his criticisms, Lalu Prasad Yadav has been using the pre-election period to project his son, Tejashwi Yadav, as the face of Bihar’s next generation of leadership. In multiple posts and public appearances, Lalu has urged voters to back Tejashwi’s vision for a “New Bihar.”

“Under Tejashwi’s leadership, we will create a new Bihar,” he declared in one of his recent messages, reinforcing his long-standing commitment to transferring the RJD’s political mantle to his son. Tejashwi Yadav, who previously served as Deputy Chief Minister, has been campaigning aggressively across the state, promising employment generation, better education, and improved infrastructure.

Bihar Gears Up for a Heated Contest

The Election Commission has scheduled the Bihar Assembly elections in two phases: the first on November 6 and the second on November 11, with results to be announced on November 14. The announcement has set the stage for a high-stakes political battle between the ruling NDA and the RJD-led opposition bloc.

With Lalu Prasad Yadav’s sharp social media commentary, Nitish Kumar’s recent public missteps, and Tejashwi Yadav’s renewed campaign push, Bihar’s political atmosphere is charged with anticipation. Analysts suggest that the upcoming polls could redefine the state’s political alignments, particularly if the RJD manages to consolidate anti-incumbency sentiments against the NDA.

As the campaign heats up, Lalu’s cryptic phrase — “Chhah aur Gyarah, NDA Nau Do Gyarah” — continues to echo across Bihar’s political discourse, symbolizing both satire and a rallying cry for change. Whether the prediction proves true will be known on November 14, when the people of Bihar deliver their verdict at the ballot box.
