Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha announced that Rs 406 crore is being spent on South Tripura’s development while inaugurating 23 projects and laying the foundation for 12 more worth Rs 179.09 crore, focusing on healthcare, education, tribal welfare, infrastructure, and industrial growth.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today inaugurated 23 development projects and laid the foundation stone for 12 development projects at the ground of PM Shri Taikarma Class XII School in the Shantirbazar subdivision of South Tripura district. The total cost of implementing these 35 projects is about Rs 179.09 crore.

The cost of implementing these projects is Rs 36 crore 44 lakh 63 thousand 500. The cost of constructing the 12 projects, for which the Chief Minister virtually laid the foundation stone today, will be Rs 142 crore 63 lakh 99 thousand.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 14 infrastructure development projects for the improvement of health services, 11 infrastructure development projects for the development of the education system, four Public Works Department development projects, and six development projects for the welfare of the tribal community.

“The people of the rural areas of the Shantirbazar, Sabroom, and Belonia subdivisions of South Tripura district will particularly benefit from these projects.”, said Dr Saha.

In his inaugural address, the Chief Minister said that a Critical Care Unit has already been started at the Shantirbazar District Hospital to improve health services in South Tripura district. A trauma centre has also been opened. An investment of Rs 65 crore has been made for the development of the Shantirbazar Rubber Park. Industrialists from India and abroad are coming to invest in the Sabroom Special Economic Zone. Large solar power panels will be installed in the Ladhua Tea Garden. A flood control dam will be built on the Muhuri River in Belonia,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that a total of Rs 406 crore is being spent on the development of South Tripura district.

“The number of beds in the district hospital will be increased to improve health services. Tripura has created a suitable environment for industrial investment. Around 1,200 industrialists attended the Tripura Business Conclave, and they have expressed interest in investing in various sectors in the state. In the last one year, various development projects worth about Rs 1,500 crore have been inaugurated across the state. New school buildings and hostels are being constructed continuously for the development of education. Smart classrooms have been introduced in various schools,” he said.

He said that bicycles, scooties, mobile phones, and free education facilities have been provided to girl students. Seats for MBBS courses have also been increased in the state’s medical colleges.

The Chief Minister said that the government is working on a priority basis for the educational, health, social, and economic development of the tribal community.

He urged everyone to come forward and participate in development work to achieve the vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas.

He said that the real development of the state will only happen if the benefits of various government projects are extended to the last person in society.

“The present state government is constantly undertaking one development initiative after another for the people. The present government is a government that solves the problems of the people. The state government is working on development in all areas, including education, health, the power sector, drinking water, and communication,” he said.
