At the ongoing World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi, India bagged four medals yesterday including two gold and two bronze to take the overall tally to 15.
Indian para-athlete Nishad Kumar clinched his maiden gold medal in the men’s high jump T47 category, while Simran Sharma claimed the yellow metal in the women’s 100m T12 sprint.
On the other hand, Pardeep Kumar clinched bronze in Men’s Discuss Throw F64 event while Preethi Pal won the medal in Women’s 200m T35 event.
With this, India currently stands at fourth position with six gold, five silver and four bronze. Brazil stand at the top with 37 medals including 12 gold, followed by China with 38 medals comprising nine yellow medals and Poland with 15 medals including eight gold.
