The political fraternity in Tripura was left in shock on Friday evening after the Hon’ble Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, Biswabandhu Sen, was rushed to the hospital following a sudden health emergency at Agartala Railway Station.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred between 6:00 pm and 6:15 pm when the Speaker was preparing to travel to Dharmanagar by train. After arriving at the station, Mr. Sen boarded the B1 coach of the train. Shortly after, he went to the toilet, where he reportedly fell unconscious.
Fellow passengers and railway staff acted swiftly to rescue him. He was immediately rushed to Tripura Medical College in Hapania for urgent medical attention. Preliminary medical examinations suggested that the Speaker might have suffered a cerebral attack. “He was immediately shifted to Tripura Medical College, where medical examination revealed an internal brain haemorrhage. Doctors have advised immediate surgery.”
The CM also expressed his deep concern and extended his prayers for Mr. Sen’s speedy recovery, invoking the blessings of Maa Tripurasundari for his health and strength. “May God bless him with strength, and I pray for his speedy and complete recovery,” Dr. Saha wrote.
Shift to Private Hospital and Surgery
Following medical consultations, Mr. Sen was shifted from Tripura Medical College to a private hospital in Agartala for further treatment. Sources confirmed that he underwent surgery to address the haemorrhage.
