State government brought about some amendments to the rules for government aided schools, especially in respect of transfers and benefits. The amendments will be effected to the  rules for the government-aided schools that were framed in 2015. The amendments came following the report filed by a committee that had been formed in the wake of a meeting with the representatives of the government aided schools.

From now on while the recruitment of teachers would be done via TRBT, a separate board would be formed to recruit non-teaching staff . The amended rules also made specific norms for

Education minister Ratanlal Nath said, the last cabinet meeting discussed the teachers and students  ratio in  the schools and found that in some schools there more teachers than required.

It was found that in many a government aided school there was a shortage of teachers while in some schools there were more teachers as compared to the students.

Most importantly, now when the new amendment would come into force teachers from the schools where their numbers were at higher side would be transferred to the nearest government aided schools where there was shortage of teachers.

In some cases, if it was so found suitable, students from government aided schools could also be transferred to the nearest government schools.

New rules also made specific reference to enrolment, student-teacher ratio, appointment of Headmasters and Assistant Headmasters, appointment of non-teaching staff and other related matters.

One of the important decisions relating to the teachers of the government aided schools were that the teachers of these schools were hitherto not eligible for HTC and some other similar benefits.  After amendment of the rules the teachers of these schools would also now get the HTC benefits.

“The amendments are being introduced based on the reports submitted by the committee and we hope the performance of the schools would now improve further”, said the education Minister.
