Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said today that West Bengal is full of inspiration and holds immense potential for industrial development. Citing Bengal’s legacy, including India’s first Industry Minister, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Modi said that under BJP rule, Bengal could become a leader in business and manufacturing. Addressing the BJP’s Paribartan Sankalp Sabha in West Bengal’s Durgapur, he criticized the Trinamool Congress government, blaming it for hindering progress and ignoring central schemes like Har Ghar Jal and Ayushman Bharat. Mr. Modi also highlighted security concerns, citing recent violence in Murshidabad and alleging industrial investors are hesitant due to instability. The Prime Minister expressed concern over corruption in education, women’s safety, and illegal immigration, accusing Trinamool of vote-bank politics. He, reaffirmed BJP’s commitment to fully implementing central schemes and tackling infiltration. The Prime Minister also noted the central government’s recognition of Bengali as a classical language.
