Bali: The annual G20 Leaders Summit got underway here on Tuesday with participating world leaders set to deliberate extensively upon key issues of global concern including challenges posed by Covid-19 under the Summit theme of Recover Together, Recover Stronger.

The first working session on Food and Energy Security has commenced. Three working sessions are being held as part of the G20 Summit Agenda, the other two being on Health and Digital Transformation.

Modi participated in the session and spoke onIndias efforts to further food security for our citizens.

On the sidelines of the G20 Summit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to have bilateral meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron, President of Indonesia Joko Widodo, Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Snchez Prez Castejn and Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien.

The Prime Minister will also address the Indian community in Bali at a Reception on Tuesday.

In India, in order to further sustainable food security, we are emphasising on natural farming and making millets, along with other traditional food grains, more popular. Also talked about Indias strides in renewable energy.

In a departure statement shes of proceeding for Bali, the Prime Minister called handing over of G20 Presidency to India by President of Indonesia Joko Widodo at the closing ceremony of the Summit- a significant moment for our country and citizens.

India will officially assume the G20 Presidency from December 1, this year.

During my interactions at the G20 Summit, I will highlight Indias achievements, and our unwavering commitment to collectively address global challenges, the Prime Minister said.

Indias G20 Presidency will be grounded in the theme Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam or One Earth One Family One Future, which underlines the message of equitable growth and shared future for all, the Prime Minister added.
