Security tightened at Golden Temple after RDX threat mail

In Punjab, security has been beefed up in and around the Golden Temple in Amritsar after the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) received a threatening email yesterday to blow up Sri Harmandir Sahib with RDX. SGPC Chief Secretary, Kulwant Singh Mannan, informed that as soon as the threat mail was received, police were informed, and SGPC itself also enhanced the security. Police have cordoned off the entire area, and a bomb disposal squad and anti-sabotage teams with other security agencies are investigating. He said a case has been registered.
 
However, he said, initially it seems the mail has been sent by some miscreant to create panic.
 
At the same time, Bhullar has appealed to the public not to worry as the police are working on it. He has assured to crack the case at the earliest.
