A workshop on district-level fifth Rashtriya Poshan Maah and Nesha mukt Bharat campaign was held yesterday at Muktdhara Auditorium in Agartala as part of Prati Ghare Sushason campaign. Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Santana Chakma inaugurated the workshop. Inaugurating the workshop, Social Welfare Minister Mrs. Chakma said that life is a priceless resource. We have to think about how we will stay healthy and strong in the future. Healthy and strong human resources are capable of building a self-reliant Tripura. In the workshop, the Social Welfare Minister also said that the central government has taken various schemes to build a drug-free India and eliminate malnutrition from the country. Central schemes are also being implemented in our state. She said Rashtriya Poshan Maah is one of the steps in eradicating malnutrition.

A video on Nesha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was screened at the programme. Minister of Social Welfare and Social Education handed over a check of 5000 rupees under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Bandana Yojana and a cheque of 2000 rupees under the Mukhyamantri Matru Pusthi uphaar scheme to the two beneficiaries. Anganwadi workers displayed home-made nutritious food for children at the programme.

Another Prati Ghare Sushason campaign is held to provide access to government schemes and services to the people of the state. The aim of the government is to provide access to schemes designed for public welfare to the last person. Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said this while inaugurating the Jirania block-level camp on Prati Ghare Sushason yesterday. Minister said at the programme that the purpose of organizing such camps is to find out whether the people have any difficulties. The government is responsible for the welfare of all sections of the people irrespective of party affiliation. He said that the government has increased the social pension by 2 thousand rupees as per its promise. It has been decided to launch the Chief Minister’s Social Assistance Scheme to provide social pension to 30,000 people in the states within a few days. Under Jal Jeevan Mission, the work of connecting drinking water to houses through pipeline is being done in mission mode.

Chairman of Jirania Panchayat Samiti Manju Das,Vice Chairman Pritam Debnath, Jirania Sub-Divisional Magistrate Jiban Krishna Acharya were present at the inauguration of the block-level camp. Anurag Sen, BDO of Jirania Block, gave the welcome address at the programme. A loan of Rs 5 lakh has been given to the members of 3 self-help groups from Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission. Fishing gear for 7 self help group members, hearing aids for 7 elderly women and walking aids for 8 people from social welfare and social education department were given. In addition, 4 farmers who have received subsidized paddy weeders, pumpset, battery spares, e-labor cards have been given to 2 construction workers. In the camp, 80 families were assisted in rearing chickens under the Mukhyamantri Swanirbhar Yojana. 2 schools were given sports equipment by the sports department.
