Efforts to improve the standard of living of the people by fulfilling their basic needs are being made by the present government. This government understands the needs of the people. This government knows how to value every single person. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha said this while inaugurating a total of 5 projects under Agartala Smart City and under Agartala Municipal Corporation at Old Motor Stand yesterday.
Chief Minister said that the present government is implementing developmental programmes according to the needs of the people. Today, the image of the government’s development is reflected in all areas. Government is making efforts for development not only in the urban areas but also in remote areas. He said, earlier this image could not be seen. After the establishment of the present government, development activities are being noticed in every area. He said that according to the principles and ideals of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, transparent administration is also going on in the state. On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, Prati Ghare Sushason campaign has started across the state from September 17 to November. The main objective of this campaign is to take public welfare schemes of the government to every people of the state. Chief Minister said that the state government will provide jobs to 6,000 people in future as per the decision of the cabinet.
Chief Minister said that as a result of the state government’s philanthropic approach, the salary of Anganwadi workers, helpers and Asha workers associated with health services will be increased by 15 percent. He further said that 1 crore 40 lakhs has already been paid to farmers bank accounts through DBT. Dearness Allowance to state employees has been given three per cent first and already another five percent has been increased after this government came in. Social pension has been increased from 700 to 1,000 rupees and 1,000 to 2,000 rupees. He said that the target of giving 30,000 more social pension has been taken. The state government is continuing work to improve the socio-economic condition of people in every field.
It is to be noted that at the beginning of the programme, Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha unveiled the plaque for beautification project of Shantipara Pond in Ward No. 20 of Agartala Municipal Corporation. Four other projects are TNGCL Pond (Battala Pond) in Ward No. 34 of Agartala Municipal Corporation, Open Gym under Udalpool opposite Baradowali School and improvement of GB Bazar Junction opposite Ujjayanta Palace.
Chief Executive Officer of Agartala Smart City Mission Shailesh Kumar Yadav delivered the welcome address on the programme. Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Deepak Majumdar, Deputy Mayor Monika Das Dutta, MLA Dr. Dilip Kumar Das, Corporator Ratna Dutta, Abhijit Malik, Lata Nath, Janvi Das Chowdhury were also present at the programme.
