The minister was on a surprise visit. And as it so happened that  Minister for Animal Resources Development Bhagaban Das was, indeed, all for surprise. He found no senior officials were present in their offices and even declined to pick up the minister’s call. As expected Das immediately ordered stringent action against the Deputy Director of the R K Nagar cattle farm Gautam Saha and other officers for their irregular attendance in the firm, as well insubordination and blatant lie.

“During my surprise visit to the farm on Thursday, the Dy. Director Gautam Saha along with the Assistant Director and other officers were found to be absent in the farm and I could learn that they had been absent for long,” the minister said on Thursday evening.

If this was not enough the Deputy Director even made brazen claims , apparently ignorant about the minister’s visit to his office that he was very much in his office.

The Minister said, said, “the Deputy Director did neither even receive my phone and nor did he receive the call of my CA. But later after the secretary of the farm called him and on being asked, he claimed he was present in the farm. Fact is I was then sitting in the farm.”

“I directed the concerned authority to take stringent action against the for their irregularity in attendance,” the minister said.

He expressed concern over the incident and said, “Due to such officers who are very negligent in their duties, the government’s efforts on implementation of welfare schemes for the general people were being delayed.”

“It is very unfortunate that such highly paid officers do not even bother for the welfare of the society. However, I will continue my sudden visit to other such farms and government departments in the near future to take stock of the situations there,” he said.
