The Tripura Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has raised serious concerns about the persecution of minorities in Bangladesh, particularly in Chittagong. During a press briefing at the state BJP headquarters, party spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharjee emphasized the alarming situation and called for international intervention.

Bhattacharjee stated that Chittagong, which had a predominantly non-Muslim population during the partition, now faces severe challenges due to the persecution of minorities. He suggested that international organizations are considering moving the International Court of Justice to address these human rights violations.

In the same briefing, Bhattacharjee highlighted the success of the BJP’s recently concluded ‘Namo Yuva Rally’ in Tripura. “We have exceeded our target of 12 lakh new members. So far, 9,48,901 members have enrolled online, and 2,31,571 have joined offline, with thousands of applications under review,” he said.

He also expressed gratitude to the state government and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha for their initiatives to create employment opportunities, including recruitment drives in various government departments. Bhattacharjee noted that these steps demonstrate the BJP government’s commitment to youth empowerment and self-reliance, drawing widespread support.

Regarding the handover of the iconic Pushpabanta Palace to the TAJ Group, Bhattacharjee underscored the BJP government’s respect for the Manikya dynasty. He also mentioned the renaming of Agartala Airport after Maharaja Bir Bikram as a testament to this respect.
