Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today emphasized the role of doctors in fulfilling their social responsibilities by supporting government initiatives aimed at protecting children’s health and shaping a better future generation.

“Paediatricians play a vital role in safeguarding children’s health. It is expected that they will take on social responsibility in implementing various government programs for the well-being of children and significantly contribute to developing a strong future generation,” said Dr. Saha while addressing the 30th Annual State Conference of TRIPEDICON at the IMA House, Agartala.

At the event, the Indian Academy of Paediatrics Tripura State Branch honoured Dr. Alekhya Dasgupta, a senior physician and paediatrician, with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Additionally, Dr. Himani Debnath, who secured the highest marks in Paediatrics in the 2024 MBBS examination, was also felicitated.

The Chief Minister highlighted the significant improvements in the state’s health system.

“The government is undertaking various initiatives to protect children’s health and build a healthy society. Paediatricians are committed to enhancing the physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being of children, and their role in fostering these aspects is invaluable,” he stated.
