In a frightening incident late Wednesday night, a wild elephant stormed into a home in the Uttar Krishnapur area under Tripura’s Krishnapur assembly segment, causing extensive damage and nearly injuring a family. The homeowner, Anandamoy Biswas, and his family had a close escape as the elephant broke through the mud walls of their house while they were asleep.

The family, realizing the danger as the walls began collapsing, took cover under their bed to avoid injury. The elephant ransacked the home, destroying approximately 280 kilograms of stored paddy before retreating from the scene.

After the elephant left, Forest Department guards arrived at the site, assessing the damage. Villagers in the area expressed anger and frustration, citing ongoing threats from wild elephants that disrupt lives and livelihoods. Despite previous assurances from local leaders and officials, residents feel that no effective steps have been taken to address the repeated elephant incursions.

The incident highlights the growing tension between rural communities and wildlife, with locals calling for immediate action to prevent future invasions and ensure their safety.
