‘Lulu Wali Diwali’ festivities at Lulu Hypermarket began in Riyadh today, bringing the spirit of India’s festival of lights to Saudi Arabia. The event, attended by dignitaries and members of the Indian diaspora, reflects the deep cultural ties and mutual respect between India and Saudi Arabia.
In a tweet following the event, Shri Goyal remarked, “Today’s magnificent celebration is a testament to the deep mutual respect between India and Saudi Arabia. He extended Diwali greetings, expressing his hope for prosperity and good health for all while celebrating the enduring bond between the two nations.
A highlight of the celebration was a special stall featuring apples from Ladakh, specifically the renowned Karkitchoo apples, showcased in Saudi Arabia for the first time. Shri Goyal shared an image of the display, tweeting, “From the apple orchards of Ladakh to the markets of Riyadh! For the first time, Saudi Arabia gets to taste these exotic home-grown delights.”
