The filing of nominations will end today for the first phase of assembly elections in Jharkhand. Candidates can file their nomination till 3 pm. Forty-three constituencies will go to polls in this phase on the 13th of November. 748 candidates have so far filed their nominations.  Scrutiny of nominations will be done on 28th October, while candidates can withdraw their nominations till 30th October.

Meanwhile, during search operations, illegal materials and cash worth over 27 crore rupees have been seized from different parts of the state since the announcement of the assembly elections. Fourteen FIRs have been lodged for violations of the model code of conduct.

 Meanwhile, The Election Commission has started the distribution of voter slips among electorates from today in view of the first phase of polling in Jharkhand. Polling of this phase will be on the 13th of November. The Chief Electoral Officer K . Ravi Kumar said the slips will be distributed up to the 5th of November. Mr Kumar instructed Booth Level Officer( BLO) to ensure a hundred per cent distribution of voter slips. The Election Commission appealed to political parties to assist in this regard.
